BIM PHILOSOPHY
BIM is a 3D model-based process that provides the insight and tools for efficient planning, design, construction and the management of buildings & infrastructure. One of the key aspects of BIM is the digital information stored within the digital model. These information are then assembled to be used for collaborative activities across all AEC professionals creating greater asset value.
The implementation of BIM enables easy access for stakeholders to the project, so that any inputs can be integrated into the design efficiently. This minimizes design discrepancies, abortive costs, and lowers the risk of on-site inaccuracies. BIM can be utilised during design analysis to explore design options through helpful visualisations so that stakeholders may envision the project before construction begins. BIM can also generate professional design documentations for the submission to local authorities, and for construction.

Since 2006, VirtualField (and affiliated companies) have been researching and developing BIM for Design 3D Workflow methodologies. As of the 28th of August 2024, VirtualField received their Malaysian Digital Status from Malaysia Digital Economy Corporation (MDEC) for our IDWE Platform; one of the platforms developed by VirtualField to enhance to the BIM for Design 3D Workflow methodology.

In addition to R&D, we provide specialized BIM for Design services, including project coordination, collaboration support, and consultation. Since 2010, VirtualField (and affiliated companies) have been in partnership with ACID Group, a group with over 20 years of experience in international BIM projects. Through this collaboration, VirtualField continues to pioneer advancements in the local BIM scene, maintaining leadership in an innovative role in BIM for Design technology and implementation.

BIM 3D WORKFLOW (LIFECYCLE OF THE PROJECT)
Our current BIM for Design 3D Workflow focuses on leveraging BIM during the design stages to support BIM-centric companies in optimizing their design processes.​ Looking ahead, we aim to expand our platform to include BIM for Construction and BIM for Facility Management, targeting construction sequencing and asset/facility management for existing buildings. We are currently in the early stages of a pilot program to evaluate and refine this implementation.

PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION
We offer a comprehensive integration and implementation program centered around our BIM for Design 3D Workflow. Our services include developing masterplans, establishing BIM modeling standards and protocols, overseeing processes, implementing seamless communication methodologies, managing and auditing BIM models, and supporting tender documentation and collaboration coordination for BIM-based projects.
PLATFORM
The Integrated Development 3D Workflow Environment (IDWE) is our custom-developed platform designed to streamline BIM for Design 3D workflows. With its user-friendly interface, it ensures a seamless transition to a fully integrated 3D workflow.
IMPLEMENTATION PROGRAM

The IDWE BIM for Design 3D Workflow Implementation Program focuses on adopting BIM for Design 3D Workflow using Revit and IDWE platform. This program aims to upskill and maximize modelling and coordinating abilities of Malaysian AEC professionals by equipping them with our BIM for Design Workflow.

Members that have passed the module with a grade of 3.0 and above will be equipped with skills to coordinate complex real-life BIM for Design and coordination projects independently, capable to create multi-disciplinary 3D models;
to be competitive with international standards.

IDWE BIM for Design 3D Workflow Implementation Program has a comprehensive set of modules to guide members throughout a real-life past project to produce 3D BIM models for Architecture, Civil & Structural and Mechanical & Electrical components with a set objective of coordination. The set of modules will also include clash analysis and project coordination across disciplines.

The IDWE e-Building platform, developed in collaboration with our partner, ACID China & Canada Design & Project Ltd., is a cutting-edge solution for design visualization and material management. This BIM platform is tailored for homeowners, contractors, and suppliers, streamlining the supply chain from contractors to end users with efficiency and precision.

ACID (Canada) Design & Project Ltd. was founded in 2018 and provides technical services in planning, architecture, landscape design (A & U design), BIM services and development (smart BIM), smart city model applications (smart CIM), and education & training.
ACID is a director unit of the buildingSMART branch in China and a co-sponsor of the China Digital Architectural Design Professional Committee (DADA). The company also participated in the first batch of national BIM standards in China, contributing to key standards such as the delivery standard of building engineering design information models, the classification and coding standard, and the drawing standard. ACID holds numerous certifications, including China's national high-tech enterprise and double-soft certification, and has over 20 copyrights and intellectual property rights.
In 2020, Mr. Qu Chang Sheng established a global talent development team from Canada, China, India, and other countries. The team combines BIM, VR, AI, blockchain, WebGL, and other technologies to create an international digital platform for one-stop intelligent building material procurement. This platform, based on BIM and AI technology, enables 3D visualization, real-time interactive customization of materials, and digital display and sales of real estate projects. It improves building material procurement efficiency while reducing carbon emissions and material waste during construction. The Ebuilding project is currently being accepted by UBC HATCH.
